Along the way I have been teaching myself to use 3DsMax and have built many custom models / assets (still learning & still building the route!!). So compromise has become the order of the day. Soon learned that it would of course be ridiculously close to impossible to get the detail level that I wanted. Big problem was I set my sights way too high with the intention that the route would be more accurate than anything Railwoks could pump out. After a number of hours (days / weeks?) playing the sim (Ahem, game, sorry IC125), I once again took the plunge with route building. It was comming along nicely, but MSTS was slowly dying and so one day I came accross TS2013 (DVD) in one of those gamer shops (don't remember which). Thought I would have a go at route building. It actually was not so bad (plenty of programme limitations in those days). TS 2014 TRAIN SIMULATOR DEMO DRIVERI got it because being an ex driver I thought it would be fun to see how it sat alongside the real world. ![]() While driving I always end up on google or wikipedia looking up info and so forth.įor me it is how I engage my passion for trains, I feel sorry for my work collegues as they are always having to listen to me prattle on about my trains and Railworks, and the missus too.Ĭan't remember exactly when or how. Thanks to Railworks I have learnt so much over the years about different trains and am still learning, it prompts me to look at places in the world I wouldnt have even thought of and drives my passion for rail no end. When I first started I didnt even know a UK loco from a german loco and so forth. I am one of those people who doesnt have an affiliation with any specific location or type so buying only what interests me narrows it down to everything released, its a hard choice sometimes.Īlong with my family I can consider it one of the most important aspects of my life as it has kept me out of the pub for more that a few years now and keeps me sane during those testing moments that make up life. I now consider it my primary hobby and the reward it brings me can not be measured in dollars. I started with the original Railworks as an adult but had no idea about just how much it would change my life. We would go on holidays and visit all the different places he had worked throughout his career so trains and railways are ingrained in me and just being/doing anything rail related is a big buzz for me. Great story also IC, for me some of my earliest memories are of being in a railyard here in west oz with my grandad (who has dementia now but thats a story for another time) while he was at work and I would get rides on the loco's and wander the yard looking at all the different things. I even got help redeeming that blasted TS2014 activation code! I now enjoy route building a lot, and messing around with different ideas and concepts for the workshop. It's only been in the last year or so that I have joined in with these forums and learnt about the aspects of the game. I again just took this to be my fault, but was happy to have TS back. TS 2014 TRAIN SIMULATOR DEMO INSTALL(By this time I had a new laptop.) I used the CD to install the game once again, but didn't use the code, so basically had the original Railworks without TS2014 routes. ![]() Then in 2013-14 I was bought the boxed TS2014 version. ![]() ![]() These were in the days when I didn't know of the TS community and so just took TS to be ''broken'' and moved on. TS 2014 TRAIN SIMULATOR DEMO SERIESHowever due to a series of laptop issues I actually couldn't use the game. I soldiered on with the base 2009 version for a couple of years, which did get a tad repetative. I remember impulse buying the original Railworks back in the day on a whim, playing it a lot and really enjoying what was essentially my first game. Great story there chaffinedwin0, nice to see that you enjoy TS. ![]()
